What is Chaffle?

The term "chaffle" refers to a waffle made of only cheese and eggs, not a grain, and that's what makes it keto-friendly. The basic chaffle is the combination of egg and cheese that makes the ideal soft waffles that have an exterior that is slightly crunchy and cheesy.

In today's recipe, we are adding almond flour to the basic chaffle recipe, to madd a texture and make it a little less eggy.

Bring your own versatility in filling it up or follow the exact recipe, it's totally up to you. But it's definitely worth it.

 1 egg
 ½ cup shredded cheddar, mozzarella or grated cheese of choice
 ¼ cup almond flour
 ¼ tsp baking powder
Sandwhich Filling
 2 slices cheese
 4 slices tomato
 2 small lettuce leaves
 2 slices turkey
 1 tbsp cream cheese or mayonnaise

Coat the waffle maker lightly with cooking spray and Preheat it on high.

Crack an egg in a food processor, then add the almond flour, baking powder, and cheese and blend them together.

Fill the waffle maker with 1/2 of the batter and close the top. Cook until crispy, then flip and cook again.

Open the cover when done and let it cool off for a couple of seconds. Move the chaffle gently onto a cooling rack using a spatula.   Repeat for the remaining batter.

Spread cream cheese or mayonnaise on the chaffles before filling. Then layer oven-roasted nitrate-free sliced turkey, lettuce, tomato, and cheddar.
